overview Dr. Ronald Brimberry graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine in 1981, and completed his residency at the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine (DFPM) Family Medicine Residency Program in Little Rock in 1984. At the same institution he completed an academic fellowship in 1985. An Assistant Professor from 1985-1991 involved in the DFPM's Predoctoral Education Division, Dr. Brimberry received tenure and was promoted to Associate Professor at UAMS in 1991. From 1992-1996 Dr. Brimberry served as the residency Program Director at the UAMS Family Medicine Residency, and served as the Associate Director from 1996-1997. Dr. Brimberry received the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award from the UAMS Little Rock Family Medicine residency graduating class of 1997. From October 1997 through May 2000 Dr. Brimberry was in full-time private practice including obstetrics at the St. Vincent MetroCentre Health Clinic in Little Rock. Dr. Brimberry returned to academics in June 2000 to join the faculty of the AHEC-NW Family Medicine Residency Program as an Associate Professor in the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine.In 2002, Dr. Brimberry became the Medical Director of the UAMS AHEC Northwest Family Medical Center, the second Family Medicine center for the AHEC-NW Family Medicine Residency Program. He also serves as the coordinator of the resident conference curriculum at AHEC-NW. Dr. Brimberry received the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award from the UAMS Little Rock Family Medicine residency graduating class of 1997. Since 2005 he has served as the Chairman of the Medicine Department of Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. Dr. Brimberry enjoys all aspects of the practice of Family Medicine, including chronic disease management, preventive services and women’s health care.
