overview Dr. Clardy received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1995 from Southwestern University. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he finished his degree in 1999. He completed residency in family medicine in 2002. Dr. Clardy is currently pursuing a Master's in Public Health through the American Military University. Dr. Clardy is a faculty member at UAMS West.Dr. Clardy actively serves as the Sebastian County Medical Officer and is frequently deployed as a Supervisory Medical Officer through the Department of Health and Human Services. He has served in Hurricane's Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Irene, and Sandy and also in the Joplin, MO, Tornado Response Force Protection Strike Team missions over the years. Dr. Clardy co-authored the clinical disaster plan for state wide usage by the UAMS system in 2011. He has a publication pending titled Recommended Curriculum Guidelines for Family Medicine Residents Disaster Medicine 2012. He has also co-authored various journal articles and given many presentations over the years in his areas of interest. Dr. Clardy serves on several committees at our affiliated hospital, Sparks Health System and is active on many local and state boards. He has special interests in wilderness medicine, obstetrics and disaster medicine. He and his wife, Dr. Katherine Irish-Clardy, met during residency and have two children, Kenneth and Erin. Dr. Clardy plays bass in his church band and volunteers with his children's Cub Scout and Daisy Scout groups.
