Russell Mayo, M.D. graduated from the UAMS College of Medicine in 1983. After finishing his family medicine residency with UAMS South Arkansas, he became board certified in Family Medicine in 1986. After 6 years of private practice, he helped start the family medicine residency at UAMS AHEC-Southwest in 1992, where he became the Program Director in 2000. He became board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine in 2012. He and his wife, Jana, have three children. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, running, golf, and spending time with his 8 grandchildren.
