This is a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial designed to investigate whether ticagrelor has greater antiplatelet effects than clopidogrel in non-dialysis CKD and inhibits platelets as effectively as in non-CKD controls. We also want to explore the mechanisms underlying the poor response of CKD patients to oral P2Y12 inhibitors.
