    Carmen Paniagua Torres EdD, RN, CPC, APRN is currently an Instructor and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology. Ms. Paniagua received her BS and MS in nursing from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed a doctorate in Education from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock and was a post doctoral fellow for the NIH National Institute of Nursing Research at Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies. She then earned a Post-Master's in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at the UAMS College of Nursing. Dr. Paniagua has worked previously at UAMS: as a clinical nurse geneticist in the Adult Genetic Clinic of the Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Institute and as a clinical instructor for the UAMS Department of Emergency Medicine. Most recently, she has served as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for Westside Charity Hispanic Clinic in Little Rock and as an Adult-Gero Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for GI Associates Southeast Arkansas. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Practice Nurse in Genetics.
