Overview Sarkis M. Nazarian, M.D. is Professor of Neurology and Ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He also serves as Neurology Clerkship Director for third-year medical students. He served as Chief of Neurology at the Central Arkansas Veterans Hospital in Little Rock from 1996 to 2014 before joining he UAMS Department of Neurology. He is Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and certified in Headache Medicine by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.Dr. Nazarian graduated from Yale University and obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed an internship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and a residency in Neurology at Yale University School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.Dr. Nazarian's clinical and research interests include headache management, treatment of optic neuritis and pseudotumor cerebri, eye movement disorders, stroke prevention and treatment, and other disorders of the nervous system.
