Overview Dr. Travis Eastin is the Division Chief for Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Quality Officer for the EM Service Line. He is also an Associate Chief Medical Officer for UAMS Health. He joined the UAMS faculty in 2013, and received the UAMS Residency Educator of the Year Award in 2015.
Born and raised in Iowa, he attended the University of Iowa before graduating with AOA honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2006. Travis completed his emergency medicine residency at Indiana University after which he completed a fellowship in Medical Education at the University of Virginia. In 2012, he earned a Master's degree in Medical Education Leadership from the University of New England.
Prior to coming to UAMS, Dr. Eastin was an associate director of the EM residency at Ohio State, where he oversaw the non-clinical curriculum and was involved in all other aspects of residency education. In 2013, he received the Faculty Teacher of the Year award from the OSU EM residents.
Dr. Eastin is board certified in emergency medicine.
