    Dr. Mark Tait is an assistant professor specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery with an emphasis on microsurgery, brachial plexus injuries, and nerve injuries. He treats both adults and children at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

    He graduated with Honors from Brigham Young University. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery through UAMS and ACH graduating in 2015. He was selected to attend the AOA resident leadership forum and was given the Carl Nelson Resident Leadership Award. He completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC with Dr. Glenn Gaston, a hand consultant for the Carolina Panthers and NASCAR. He received further training in brachial plexus and nerve injuries on a traveling fellowship with Dr. Christophe Oberlin in Paris, France.

    He is involved in clinical and research endeavors focusing on sports and traumatic injuries to the hand, elbow, and nerves of adult and pediatric patients. He has a special interest in brachial plexus, tetraplegia, peripheral nerve injuries, and microsurgery. He is also interested in improving function of upper extremity amputees through the use of a myoelectric prosthesis. His research has been published in peer reviewed medical journals and his research has been presented at various forums and meetings around the country. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society of Surgery of the Hand
