    Dr. Nabaweesi is a health services researcher Department of Pediatrics and Arkansas Children’s Research Institute. She also has an adjunct appointment with the Department of Health Policy and Management in the College of Public Health. Her research interests are translational science, community engagement, health disparities, Adverse Childhood Experiences and pediatric trauma.

    Dr. Nabaweesi’s research explores innovative methodologies for observation of home and car passenger safety practices, understanding psychosocial factors that contribute to disparate uptake of infant safe sleep recommendations by vulnerable populations. Her research focuses on childhood injury prevention and health disparities reduction for rural and minority populations. She uses implementation science tools and academic-community partnerships to improve rural minority children’s health status. She also studies the impact of policies on clinical provider practices and child caregivers.

    As the Senior Director of Research and Evaluation for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, she promotes culturally responsive and equitable evaluation of outreach programs and academic interventions serving student, staff and faculty stakeholders.
