    Collapse overview
My interests include primary and secondary prevention of pediatric injury. My long-term interest is to establish a trauma outcomes research program, which addresses the effect of social factors, financial systems and organizational behavior on health disparities as they present in quality of life, patient satisfaction, and quality of care. I seek to reduce variation in trauma care delivery and promote the standardization of protocols and procedures in the trauma system across race and socio-economic status. Additionally, my work encompasses primary prevention of home and motor vehicle injuries in the community setting, including research in child passenger safety, all-terrain vehicle safety, and safe sleep. I am exploring novel methods in community adoption of injury prevention interventions using smartphone technology, specifically to document safe sleep environments and car seat use in minority low socio-economic teen mothers.
