    Dr. Garrett-Shaver received her Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2000. She moved to the AHEC South Arkansas in El Dorado to complete her residency in 2003, serving as the Chief Resident her final year. Dr. Garrett-Shaver has pursued interests outside of medicine for a time before beginning her medical pursuits. This includes Serving as Vice President for different companies in Arkansas and even teaching science in secondary school. In recognition of her expertise, she has served on several different committees to support the AHEC South Arkansas. This includes the Clinic Advisory Committee, the Department Heads Committee and the Peer Review Committee.
