Overview As a clinical educator, my focus is on expanding knowledge of mental illness, including substance use disorders and chronic pain, during the perinatal period among health care professionals. My research topics of interest include chronic pain and substance use disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period with an emphasis on multi-departmental and multi-institutional collaborations.

Teaching As an attending physician in the Departments of Psychiatry and Ob-Gyn, I regularly participate in the bedside teaching of medical students as well as residents and fellows in Psychiatry and Ob-Gyn, such as maternal fetal medicine fellows. Additionally, I am the program director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship at UAMS.
Research Research interests include chronic pain disorders in pregnancy, perinatal neuropsychiatric illnesses, and substance abuse disorders in pregnancy. Current research interest include the impact of chronic pain disorders and its management in pregnancy.
