He then completed a two-year neurosurgery research fellowhsip at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Following residency, he obtained his fellowship training in complex spine surgery in both the Departments of Orthopedics and Neurosurgery at the University of Washington, followed by a minimally-invasive spine and brain tumor surgery fellowship at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, Washington.Dr. Kazemi is board certified through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as spinal disorders and craniocervical distraction injuries. He has also authored several book chapters in major neurosurgery textbooks. His main interests include minimally-invasive surgical approaches to the spine including treatment of deformities and tumor conditions - as well as utilization of the newest techniques in performing peripheral nerve surgeries.
